Häxan has had numerous different live scores over the years. When it premiered in Sweden, its accompaniment was compiled from pre-existing compositions, combining pieces by Schubert, Gluck, and Beethoven.
This unique version of the film was re-scored in one-of-a-kind operatic/tribal arrangement by a Canadian composer, multi-instrumentalist and operatic singer Alia Synesthesia.

Creator Spotlight
The project is created and ran by Alia Miroshnichenko, PH.D, a Siberian-Canadian classically trained operatic singer, multi-instrumentalist and audio engineer who performs under pseudonym Alia Synesthesia.
Alia was fascinated by both horror and opera ever since she was a child. And while many contemporary music enthusiasts may find classical opera “difficult to listen to”, Alia aims to reveal the original beauty of operatic technique by creating arrangements that combine operatic singing and modern composition/instrumentation.
